Mrs. Lin serves as Chief Executive Officer and President of the institution. She received her undergraduate training at Ming Chuan University in Taiwan, R.O.C., participated in a special internship and training program in Traditional Chinese Medicine at Dr. Pei Rong Sun’s Institute, and earned her E.M.B.A. from the Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, in the People’s Republic of China. Mrs. Lin is the co-founder of the Texas College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the first school of its kind in Texas. As the new President, Mrs. Lin’s distinguished career as a practitioner, clinician, healer and co-founder will assist the College in realizing its goals of a truly integrative approach to acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine in the modern Western world.

Dr. Vequist is the Vice President of Assessment and Research for the college. He also teaches in the H-E-B School of Business & Administration at the University of the Incarnate Word, and serves a member of Holland & Davis LLC a consulting firm headquartered out of Houston, Texas. Previously, he was at Methodist Healthcare System, as a Human Resources executive and before that with Ernst & Young, LLP as a Management Consultant. |
Maoyi Cai, M.D.

Dr. Cai earned his Bachelor of Medicine in 1984 (Note that the Bachelor’s of Medicine is the equivalent of the Doctor of Medicine [China]). Between 1984 and 1990, he practiced medicine at Shanghai Medical University. From 1990 to 1996, he taught a variety of biomedical science courses at colleges and universities in New Mexico and Texas. In 1999, he was licensed as a Registered Acupuncturist in Alberta, Canada. Dr. Cai is certified as an M.D. in the U.S. and Canada, having successfully completed the licensing examinations of the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) in the United States in 1997 and the parallel examinations of the Medical Council of Canada in 1999. He has served as a board member of the Acupuncture Committee of Canada since 2003. He was also Dean of Academic Affairs at Alberta College of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine between 1997 and 2005. In January of 2006, he joined the faculty of Texas College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. |

Dr. Cui is the college's Clinic Director. Dr. Cui served as Assistant Lecturer (1992-1997) and Lecturer (1997-2001) at Shandong University of TCM, teaching TCM courses to both native Chinese speakers and English-speaking students. His teaching is enriched by eight years’ experience at Shandong University’s Affiliated Hospital. A published author, Cui also served as researcher and Vice-Chief Editor of Modern Research and Application of Prescriptions of Compendium of Chinese Materia Medica (Ben Cao Gang Mu), and Practical Prescriptions for Apoplexy, and has published three volumes of Ancient and Modern Application of Herbs and Prescriptions. Cui teaches Fundamental Theories of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Meridian Theory, Point Location, Treatment Modality of Acupuncture I-II, and Clinical Internship courses, and has been a member of the faculty at Texas College of TCM since 2001.

Dr. Zheng serves the college as Director of Herbology. Dr. Zheng served as Assistant Professor (1986 – 1995), Associate Professor (1995-2001) and Associate Dean (1998-2001) at Shandong University of TCM. He is a member of the China National Committee of Chinese Medicinal Formulae, paper reviewer of Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Journal of Shanxi Traditional Chinese Medicine. In addition to his more than 20 years of teaching, research, and clinical experience, Dr. Zheng has almost 20 papers and books of TCM published in both Chinese and English. He is currently teaching Herbology, Prescriptionology, Internal Medicine of TCM, TCM Gynecology, Clinical Patent Medicine, Practical Herbal Formulas, and Warm Disease Theory. Dr. Zheng’s teaching and research address the treatment of gynecological disorders, pain syndromes, and Immune disorders with herbal formulas and acupuncture. Dr. Zheng joined the faculty of Texas College of TCM in 2001. |
Jian Hua Mu, Lic.Ac.

Dr. Mu currently serves as the college's Director of Acupuncture. He has taught at the university level since 1984, serving as Assistant Lecturer and Associate Professor at his Alma Mater, an acupuncturist in practice for 15 years at the Affiliated Hospital of the Shan Dong University of TCM, and as Professor at Menesze Medical University in Brazil. Mu’s publications include four books: Traditional Chinese Medicine and Changes; Chinese Ear Acupuncture; Dictionary of TCM in Chinese and English; Acupuncture and Moxibustion, and four research papers: Clinical Research of Coronary Heart Disease with Ear Acupuncture; The Relationship Between Auricular Heart Point and Heart Organ – 60 Case Reports; The Review of Auricular Acupuncture Research in Western Medicine; and The Effect of Electro-Acupuncture at Auricular Heart area on the Electrocardiogram and Cardiac Function. A recipient of many honors from various professional organizations, Mu is also member of the China Association of Acupuncture and Moxibustion (the most authoritative professional TCM organization in China), the Jinan Research Institute of the Human Body, and the Texas Association of Acupuncturists. His current teaching assignments include: CPR and Emergency Techniques, Special Needle Techniques, Clinical Observation I-II, Meridian Acupoint Energetics, Treatment Modality of Acupuncture I-II, Scalp and Ear Acupuncture, and Clinical Internship. Mu joined Texas College of TCM’s faculty in 1999. |
Paul C.K. Lin, M.A., Lic. Ac

Mr. Lin is the college's Operations Manager. He served as a Fellow of the Research Institute of Acupuncture at China Academy, Taipei, and remained as an Instructor and Research Fellow at the Chinese Culture University and China Academy, where he also served as assistant to the President. He taught and lectured for one and a half years before being assigned to Seton Hall, New Jersey, through a teacher exchange program. In 1971, when President Nixon’s visit to China introduced acupuncture to an American audience, Mr. Lin was able to apply the knowledge gained through his clinical practice to pursue a career in acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine in the United States. The co-Founder of the Texas College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the first and oldest school of its kind in Texas, Paul Lin also served as the Academic Dean of the College from 1990 to 2004. Mr. Lin has practiced acupuncture and traditional Chinese herbal medicine in the United States since 1974, and was a pioneer in the successful effort to pass acupuncture legislation in Texas. |

Mr. Rufus serves as the college as Comptroller. He has worked as a project manager at the Texas State Auditor’s Officer, where he audited over fifty governmental agencies, universities, and non-profit organizations. He also served as the director of internal audit with the City of Austin/Travis County Health and Human Services Department. In addition, Mr. Rufus has experience as Manager of Program Review at the Texas Guaranteed Student Loan Corporation, and is a Certified Public Accountant. |

Ms. Kuo holds the positions of Administrator II and Registrar. Ms. Kuo brings to the college over twenty years of industry business experience in customer service and planning. She is responsible for the registration and assessing transcripts for transfer credits required for admission. She also supports the faculty to interface with students academically.

Being a recent graduate from the Texas College of
Traditional Chinese Medicine, Patricia Lew illuminates personal experience to
potential students as the Admissions Coordinator. She is responsible for
guiding new students into the Masters program at TCTCM. Patricia is also a
violinist, playing in many local Austin bands as well as previously in the
University Orchestra.
